About Trinchero 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, Mario's, Napa Valley

Mario's Cabernet Sauvignon is a tribute to Mario Trinchero, who came to the Napa Valley with his family in 1948 to realize the American dream. It is sourced from two estate vineyards situated on benchland soil in the heart of Napa Valley. Mario's Vineyard, a 13-acre vineyard surrounding the winery and the Central Park West Vineyard, a 22-acre vineyard with loamy soils and good sun exposure both in St. Helena. 2012 was an outstanding vintage and this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was aged 16 months in 65% new French oak barrels. James Suckling scored i 94 points saying "A big and rich red with lots of dried berry and blueberry character. Chocolate too. Full-bodied, round and chewy. A wine with fruit and muscle that gives it form. Drink or hold."
