    About J. Christopher 2014 Pinot Noir, Unfiltered Willamette Valley

    J. Christopher Wines was started in 1996 and all of the wines are handcrafted in small lots, with fruit sourced from some of the best vineyards in Oregon. Specializing in Willamette's jewel, Pinot Noir they make it in the traditional Burgundy style. In 2010 a partnership with renowned German winemaker Dr. Ernst Loosen brought invaluable Old World winemaking experience. From what was another almost perfect vintage in Oregon, this 2014 is blended from excellent vineyards in three of the Willamette Valley's AVAs: Dundee Hills, Chehalem Mountains and Eola-Amity Hills. Fermented with native yeasts the wine aged up to 18 months in French oak barrels and bottled unfiltered. Wine Enthusiast Magazine gave this a 91 point score and said "Forward, fruity and flavorful, this is a quite pretty compendium of raspberry and cherry fruit, accented with a touch of orange peel. As with J. Christopher's pricier cuves, it spent 18 months in one-quarter new French oak. Though labeled simply Willamette Valley, the fruit was sourced principally from the prestigious Dundee Hills AVA."
