About J. Lohr 2015 Chardonnay, Arroyo Vista, Arroyo Seco

The Arroyo Vista Chardonnay is grown in the heart of the windswept and cool Arroyo Seco AVA of Monterey County, widely regarded as one of the best places in California to grow Chardonnay. This wine is 100% barrel fermented with weekly stirring of the lees. The wine is then aged sur lie for a total of 14 months in French oak barrels are 51% new from coopers François Frères, Marcel Cadet, Tonnellerie O, Dargaud et Jaegle, Le Grand and Mercurey. This Chard was the top scoring white wine out of 60 wines recently rated in Beverage Dynamics National Retailer Wine Panel reviews scoring 96 points! They said "Consistently one of the best examples of Monterey chardonnay. Winemaker Kristen Barnhisel puts a decidedly Burgundian spin on this rich, voluptuous wine. A very specific French barrel program, weekly stirring of the lees, Dijon 76 clone, and other classic techniques shine on the palate. Full-bodied and complex. Peach, vanilla and lemon dominate the nose."
