A Wine Enthusiast Magazine perpetual Best Buy, this Washington state Chardonnay is hard to beat. 65% barrel fermented and the rest fermented in tank to maintain the bright fruit flavors. Malolactic fermentation follows yeast fermentation for added richness and complexity and the wine is aged sur lie for more than six months in a mix of French and American oakbarrels (35% new) with regular stirrings to add richness and integrate the fruit and oak flavors. This 2016 is again a Best Buy in Wine Enthusiast Magazine who said "This wine has a throwback label to celebrate Chateau Ste Michelles 50th anniversary. Up front aromas of clarified butter, peach and spice are followed by medium bodied stone fruit flavors. Its a very varietal crowd pleaser."
