Comments about Sequana 2007 Pinot Noir, Sundawg Ridge Vyd., Green Valley:
Nice cherry and faint red-raspberry on the nose. Not as much of the mineral note that I often get on russian river pinot. The most outstanding quality of this wine was the balance. All parts are in perfect order creating a silky, majestic wine. Having said that, I don't know that I'd give it a 97 rating. It is wonderful, but the 94-95 pinots I've had seem just as good. The wife disagrees, she thinks it is out of this world.

My wife adores Pinot Noir, I _generally_ just tolerate it... There are several Pinots that I completely enjoy drinking, but the fruit profiles (is that strawberry?) usually put me off -- I prefer the fruit of Zin and Merlot over Pinot and the layers of a big Bordeaux blend, as well as those fantastic and overpriced big Italian wines!
Anyway -- all that said -- this Pinot is outstanding and I will buy more if it is available!

I think with a year or 2 of age this wine will be excellent.
