This wine has a very impressive tannin under-pinning that might bother those not accustomed to the Malbec grape. Hence, I believe this wine is not for the beginner, or one who is looking for a wine for casual drinking. I have had this wine with some of the more complex cheeses from Italy and France, and of course with grilled steak. This wine is NOT for pizza since the wine will over power the pizza taste without adding any benefit. Consider decanting the wine a full several hours before serving in order to soften the tannins and bring the wine into better balance. We learned about Malbec wines while we were in Argentina recently, and this wine is an excellent bargain and entirely representative of the grape. Enjoy now, or age for a few years.

Had this with a chocolate toffy dessert and it went perfectly. Also would go well with pasta with a light tomato/cheese or cream sauce. Much like a very good ripe Merlot but more body and fullness.

I have tried many Malbecs, even in Argentina and have found some much better than this one. Its not bad but not something I would repeat, maybe its needs some aging and then it will get smoother.

Nose: Nice berry fruit with a little concrete dust.
Taste: Lots of berry fruits. Well structured with tannins, but not too much. Full and well balanced. Long finish.

This is an amazing value. It matches as well to pasta with strong flavored sauces (even gourmet pizzas and strongly flavored sides) as it does well veal, beef. It is a wine that makes everything right at the end of the day--full and satisfying. Given its price, you could be forgiven if you thought it should be reserved for weekday evenings, but don't short change your friends when you entertain. It can pass as a wine priced 4 to 5 times its price point. I need to find much more of this!
