Real solid wine. Still has some tannic bite, but opened nicely after about 20 minutes. Fruit forward and fun to drink!! I suggest decanting to enhance the fruit and open the wine up to get the best drinking pleasure.

This is a decent value malbec. We had this with tacos and they went well together. It has a medium to light body, was smoother than expected for an '08 and had a lower alcohol than many of today's malbecs. While we enjoyed this it's unlikely we would stock up on this. Worth a try if you enjoy this varietal.

I regularly pay $35-$75 to get that "ah" experience from wine. But you don't--at least I don't--drink a $75 bottle of wine with take-out such as pizza. So I needed some-less expensive wines, and I tried this. I decanted it for an hour to see how good an under-$20 bottle of wine could be. It was a revelation. This is an intensely rich, full-bodied, chewily delicious wine that startles for fore-palate with its bold assertiveness, veritably explodes onto the mid-palate with a cornucopia of flavors, and has a long finish resplendent with the silken flavors of blackberry and especially chocolate. This is what wine drinking is meant to be. So many wines leave you sitting on the fence. Do I like it? Yes, I suppose. Not this wine. You need no wine education whatsoever to know that this is superb. It may be priced to go with pizza, but this is a fillet mignon wine if ever there was one.

The wine was beautiful! I've searched high and low for a good Malbec and everyone failed until I found Cupcake. The wine has a great, bold flavor, a great nose, and went well with dinner and after dinner. I'm a white wine drinker that's really working into the red wine scene and this wine is now one of my favorites.
