Nuits St. Georges, Les Argillats 2009 JP Marchand |
 |
Reports are that the 2009 Burgundy reds are rivalling the 2005's for overall quality. Just in, this rare 2009 Nuits St. Georges, made from Pinot Noir grapes from a single vineyard, hand picked and then hand selected from vines averaging 35 years old. The grapes are slowly macerated and fermented over 14 days in temperature controlled conditions. The wine was then aged for 14 months in oak barrels, 50% of which were new, giving the wine increased depth of flavor and complexity. Typically powerful and intense, with deep, black fruit and truffle notes, this wine will cellar beautifully over the next 5-8 years. This single vineyard “lieu-dit” Burgundy is a very rare wine, only 125 cases were produced, so get it while you can. Extremely Limited!
