Fixin 2005 Pierre Gelin
This might be the most under appreciated wine in all of Burgundy. Fixin is not an appellation you ever hear about, yet it's just a few miles north of Gevrey- Chambertin in the prestigious Cotes de Nuits. Pierre Gelin is the producer to look for in this appellation, one of very few located here and with a long track record of bold, distinctive wines. This one is a rare treat indeed, as most 2005 Burgundies have long been snapped up by collectors. Rich and robust with a well-developed complexity and evolved silky tannins, this is a serious red Burgundy that's ready to go. Don't miss it. Extremely Limited!
