Beaujolais-Villages 2010 Georges Duboeuf
Another amazing vintage in Beaujolais! 2010 was the second outstanding vintage in a row for the Burgundian region of Beaujolais. Georges Duboeuf is by far the most recognized and one of the most esteemed producers in the region. Through his many estate holdings and long term grower contracts he is able to source the best possible grapes. Beaujolais-Villages is a blend of Gamay grapes, all coming from the designated, so-called Cru Villages, know for superior quality; a clear cut above regular Beaujolais due to that pedigree. With the deft hand of Georges Duboeuf at the helm this is a wine that delivers remarkable quality for the price!

I bought a few, does this taste like a Pinot Noir and if not what is it similar too?

Actually it does. The Gamay grape is very similar to Pinot Noir and sometimes tasted blind is hard to distinguish from it. Overall it's generally brighter with high-toned cherry notes some herbal hints and touch of earthiness. Less complex overall and does not age as well. Best enjoyed when it's young and fresh.
