Domaine Aurelien Verdet has a superb 3.5 acre plot in Morey St Denis, immediately above the Grand Cru Clos de Tart. Aurélien is an enthusiastic, driven young man whose father was one of the pioneers of organic viticulture back in the early 1970's and since his retirement in 2005, Aurélien has carried on the tradition. Vinifications are long – up to 30 days with up to 10 days cold maceration then gentle pumping over of the juice to stimulate fermentation. The wines are aged in oak barrels from Burgundy, Tronçais and Vosges forests not exceeding 1/3 new each year.
