Made legendary by Duckhorn, the Three Palms Vineyard in Napa produces what may be the best Merlot in the valley. More intriguing is the fact that Tom Rinaldi, Duckhorn's founding winemaker, now heads up winemaking at Provenance and produced this wine. If anyone knows Three Palms Merlot it's Tom. Wine Spectator said it "Offers good depth and structure, with red currant and sage aromas and black cherry, licorice and toasty vanilla flavors that finish with tight tannins."
