Overall, I like the convenience of ordering online and not have to choose differnt wine - I get the sampler and the opportunity to try different red. Make's it very mysterious. Love that aspect of it. Thank you, WineExpress.
I have purchased the call me a cab sampler twice. Both times, I enjoyed every bottle that was sent and would purchase this again and recommend this to a friend. It is a fun way to sample, taste, and get to know great cabs.
Purchasing the sampler cases is a fantastic way to add to your wine cellar. Great wines are selected, taking some of the guess work out for the buyer. Every bottle I have received, has been a delight to taste and share with friends and family.
I ordered a Cab sampler in May and was happy we were able to get delivery in AZ since we couldn't get delivery when we moved here ten years ago. The weather was better in May and I liked the variety and savings on the Cab Sampler. I ordered two more cab samplers in August and wanted them held but somehow one of the cab samplers got delivered when it was 105 in Tucson and 110 or over in the truck. We were worried about the heat but they are delivered lying down so the corks didn't crumble. We let them sit in a climate controlled cabinet for a few days. The cabs are 2012 so they are young but after the first sip decided to decant the Geyser Peak that we opened and it hadn't been damaged by the heat but needed some aeration. If you are ordering a cab less than five years old either let it sit, decant it or pour it back and forth from a small glass to a larger glass. If it is older decant it and watch for sediment when you are pouring into the decanter. We have a filtered funnel for the older wiens. If you don't have a climate controlled cellar than put it in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. Room temperature is not the same as cellar temperature. Red wines should be served at 58 degrees. There are six cabs and five of them are in the medium price range but in each that we have ordered there was one bottle that was more expensive than the rest. The good thing about ordering is that you will find wines that aren't in the store but maybe a really good restaurant.
