Chateau Tour Saint-Vincent 2009 Medoc, Cru Bourgeois |
 |
Here's a first rate Medoc Bordeaux at a great price. Chateau Tour Saint-Vincent is designated Cru Bourgeois. After Cru Classe, Cru Bourgeois is recognized worldwide as the Medoc's most prestigious designation. The family owned property has about 30 acres planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The vines are densely planted and average a very mature 30 years of age. Great pains are taken to limit yields with frequent green harvests. And all of the grapes are sorted three times by machine and finally by hand when they reach the winery. Fermentation is in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and the wine is aged in oak for 12 months. The superb 2009 vintage brought incredible ripeness to both Cabernet and Merlot and this wine is a 50/50 blend. It shows opulent berry and cassis flavors and a rich textured mouthfeel. The tannins are highly polished and the overall appeal is very forward and compelling. Drinks beautifully now and will age gracefully over the next 3-7 years. Don't miss it.
