The #2 Wine of The Year in Wine Enthusiast Magazine!
Carrying the name of one of the estate’s oldest plots of land, farmed biodynamically and harvested by hand, this extraordinary 100% Malbec shows style, elegance and breeding well beyond its modest price. Serge and Martine Costes began by reducing yields to get the most concentration and character from their old vines Malbec vineyards in the Cahors region of France, south of Bordeaux. The wine was aged 12 months in oak barrels, from the stellar 2009 vintage it is #2 on the Wine Enthusiast Magazine Top 100 Wines for 2012. An Editor’s Choice with a 93 point score, they called it “A bold statement of dark Malbec, it’s very rich and very concentrated. The wine has considerable tannins to go with the weight of its fruit. With excellent potential, this wine, made from old-vine grapes, should age for at least seven years.”
