"Ricco" means rich and that's just what you'll feel like when you're enjoying this supple, super value Italian red from the Marche region. Carletto blends 63% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot and 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, that's been carefully vinified to express the ripe fruit flavors of black cherry, plums and blackberries. Soft tannins bring a finish that's tinged with more sweet, fruity essence. For under $10 you simply can't go wrong. We were pleasantly surprised with this selection---usually we drink Malbec--which at different times of the day is a little heavy--but this is perfect anytime---delighted with it--and sorry we only ordered 4 bottles-- and will reorder a full case on our next order.
This wine was an absolute hit at our home over the holidays this year. It is a drier wine but not as dry as many Merlots. I normally drink sweet wines but enjoyed this red wine a lot. We will order agin. I am not that knowledgeable about all the different wines but know when I like one.
I am not an expert on wines; but, I do know what I like. This wine was very tasty. Delicious with Italian food. Learned not to drink it with toast with peanut butter and jam on it. I will purchase this again.
I always double aereate my reds & keep them in a device that maintains the proper "cellar" temperature. This wine, at this priceline, was a real find. This is my third case & I have not been disappointed
Just received my Ricco Rosso last week and served it for the first time last night to our friends who drink mostly domestic reds. They were enthusiastic in their praise for the rich color in the glass, the heady aroma, the intense fruity taste, and the lightness of body as we served it before our meal. They also elected to enjoy it with the light Thai lettuce wraps for dinner over an offered white. They and I were surprised at how well it paired with conversation, hors de oeuvres and light cuisine. I think it would be hard to beat the Ricco Rosso for the price for an informal gathering with friends.
