Here's a very affordable and tasty Chianti from importer Neil Empson. Produced from mature vines fruit, the quality exceeds most of what you'll find labeled as Chianti DOCG and may rival many Chianti Classicos. This wine routinely recieves priase from critics and very attractive scores. This 2012 has not been reviewed yet, though overall the vintage was excellent. James Suckling scored the 2011 90 points saying "Amazing quality for a simple Chianti. Beautiful character of sliced ripe strawberries and lemons follow through to a full body, with bright acidity and a silky finish. Firm silky tannins come through. Give it a little more time to come together." Priced for everyday so don't miss it.
