L'Oca Ciuca 2009 Toscana IGT |
 |
The L'Oca Ciuca (Drunken Goose) estate is the family property of famous Italian enologist Alberto Antonini, who has headed up winemaking at such iconic Tuscan estates as Col D'Orcia, Frescobaldi and Antinori. The estate covers 150 acres on Southwest facing slopes in the Chianti DOC.
Made in a forward and appealing style, L'Oca Ciuca 2009 Toscana is a Super Tuscan with a difference. While most use Cabernet Sauvignon, this ripe red is a blend of 40% Sangiovese 30% Merlot and 30% Syrah. The result is a wine that’s supple, spicy, forward and lush with ample cherry and berry characteristics. Balanced with bright acidity, its the perfect match for spicy, rich flavored foods.
