Tignanello is the first and most consistent of the great Super Tuscans. Of course Antinori is the world famous producer of Tuscan wines, their history going back literally centuries and their vineyard holding unrivaled. This 2011 is a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. Individual pick lots are vinted and aged separately in French and Hungarian oak barrels. Wine Spectator scored this 92 points saying "A powerful red, with plum, blackberry and black cherry flavors that border on jammy, all kept in check by juicy acidity and firm, dense tannins and leather and earth accents. Finishes long, with a mineral flourish. Best from 2015 through 2023."
