Bodega Norton 2009 Privada Red Blend, Mendoza
Privada was one of Bodega Norton’s first high-end wines. The wine’s name is inscribed on each bottle by winery owner Gernot Langes-Swarovski’s own hand, and it was originally reserved for family and close friends. It is a blend of 40% Malbec, 30% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 16 months in new French oak barrels. It scored 91 points from the Wine Spectator and the Wine Advocate. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored it 93 saying "Solid and brimming with more potential than it’s displaying, this Bordeaux-style blend of Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon starts with aromas of graham cracker, lush berry and pastry. It feels perfectly framed by acidity and tannins, with spicy, complex blackberry and cassis flavors. Toasty and a mile long on the finish, drink this from 2014–2020."

This is a wonderful fusion of big dark fruit flavors and a perfect balance of acidity and supple tannins. For me, this is just liquid art .

Comments about Bodega Norton 2009 Privada Red Blend, Mendoza:

I know Privada would be good by the color but once I tasted it, it really took be back to my times in Argentina! This wine was impressive and kept getting better after some time in the bottle. Big bold and lush, this is what a Malbec should taste like! Quite surprised that this caliber is still around at this price point. Buy some while you can!

Comments about Bodega Norton 2009 Privada Red Blend, Mendoza:

Very easy on the nose. Smells like dark fruit and spicy. Heavy on the tannins and a big wine. Tastes amazing! I had this with steak the other night and it really increased the taste of the steak as well! Very impressed. I highly recommend. I just picked up a case!

Comments about Bodega Norton 2009 Privada Red Blend, Mendoza:

Looking for a steakhouse wine, well here it is! This is loaded with big dark fruit and peppery spice from start to finish. Its a little astringent at first but after some time to open it settles nicely and smoothes out a bit. Still a full bodied wine with super dry tannins that screams for a big cut of beef.
