Chinon 2009 Marie de Beauregard, Gut Saget Estates |
 |
This Loire Valley red is 100% Cabernet Franc selected from two producers who reserve the production oft heir best plots every year for this wine. Winemaker of Guy Saget Estates, Bruno Mineur, then selects the best of the estate grown grapes for blending and maturing. The name “Marie de Beauregard” is homage to the first owner of the estate's wife. Wine Spectator scored it 90 points saying
"Offers modern-style toast, with dark cocoa and graphite notes up front, but a core of sweet plum, cassis and bitter cherry notes, with smoldering tobacco and tapenade hints on the back end, keep this nicely grounded. Drink now through 2013."
