Villa Dante Toscana 2008 Super Tuscan IGT
This is a lush, lively super Tuscan that’s also an incredible value. The blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot brings the power and fruit character of Sangiovese, softened by the hint of mellow Merlot. Aged 12 months in oak and then another 2 years in the bottle just like Brunello, allowing the tannins to soften and the rich flavors of ripe black cherry and cedary spice to emerge and linger on the palate with perfect balance and a seductively supple texture. Buy it by the case.

This is a pleasant wine - nothing over the top. Red jeweled tone. It needs to breathe to enhance its fruit features such as berry. No one feature predominates and I would say it is a nice bottle to serve with friends at a casual dinner of pasta or chicken or sipping on the deck with grilled lighter items. Would not stand up to a heavy red meat course.

            At this price point saying anyhting bad about this gem will be sinful - absolutely fabulous all around vino! IMHO better than others I've tried at twice the price. Let it breath for 15 minutes and you'll be bombarded with carefully orchestrated selection of fine sangiovese blended with smoky oak, resulting with massive dark-berried fruit and hints of leather hitting your palate sip after sip.

              I drank this with my homade sauce, which is my mother's recipe from the old country. I entertained about twenty people, and they seemed to love it. I drink it quite often, and have never had a bad bottle. I am giving away a bottle to my Orthopaedic surgeon, who repaired my shoulder.

                    I'm not familiar with that particular wine but this is a very popular style of Italian wine from Tuscany and I can imagine that the Tuscan wine you are asking about is similar.
