Domaine Trouvere 2011 Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley
Domaine Trouvere is the sister label to Lange Vineyards in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Don Lange’s work as a winemaker has been termed "brilliant" by none other than Hugh Johnson and Wine Enthusiast Magazine proclaimed Lange Estate to be "one of the great Pinot Noir producers in the United States." Domaine Trouvere was originally launched to showcase premium vineyard sites and sub-AVA's in the Valley in 2011 the they made this single Pinot Noir using the grapes that they sourced from 15 different prime vineyard sites. Each lot was hand picked, hand sorted and separately vinified. Aged in French oak the wine shows the remarkable character of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. On the nose delicate notes of strawberry, cherry and wood spice; aromas that are distinctly Pinot Noir-centric. It's silky and lithe on the palate with a pure fruit expression that's deep and persistent. Cherry, cola, cranberry and strwberry notes are dusted with asian spices and the bright acidity brings a lengthy and mouthwatering finish. This is serious Willamette Valley Pinot that we found irresistible. We grabbed everything we could and are offering it at special value price to our Wine Express customers. This is absolutely our best value Willamette Valley Pinot Noir offer and perhaps the best one anywhere. Don't miss it!

In a word...stunning. This has all the makings of a high pedigree, classic Willamette Valley Pinot, except for the price! Well structured red cherry, strawberry and fresh raspberry fruit dance around smoky and earthy notes with just a hint of delightful peppery spice. The acidity is in perfect balance with the fruit and fine tannins, leaving a long and off dry finish. Killer Pinot...

Comments about Domaine Trouvere 2011 Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley:

This is one silky smooth Pinot and just a tremendous value for the price. Lots of classic WV character with lovely cherry and strawberry fruit. Notes of cola, spice and smoke follow on the palate and the finish hangs around longer than you may expect for a lighter style Pinot. Really solid juice from start to finish and an even better value.

Became acquainted with Oregon Pinot Noir and this one did not disappoint. We enjoyed it with a good ribeye from the grill and it held up well. I have already recommended it to two friends.

This was a nice Pinot for the price. Not a great wine but a good every day wine. Needed to be decanted but did open up. Paired nicely with Salmon.

Comments about Domaine Trouvere 2011 Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley:

I'm sucker for good pinot's, especially if they come from Oregon, as I find that something is really special comes from this region. Domaine Trouvere is no exception and pleasantly perfumed one too. Even without decanting it gave me expected strawberry, violet and cigar box-like smoky notes on the nose. On the palate I got juicy red cherry, a hint of leather and after decanting for half hour it approached this interesting, almost Syrah flavor spectrum. This wine was paired nicely with Peking duck leftovers I've had, and I think my other bottle can't wait to meet seared pepper-crusted yellowfin tuna steak, cheers!

This is a standout for the price! Thw wine shows complexity not usually found in a sub 20$ wine. It has fine black cherry fruit with a silky texture and was even bettor the following day , an indication that you can hold it for short term cellaring.

Comments about Domaine Trouvere 2011 Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley:

This 2011 Oregon Pinot delivers everything and more one would expect from this famed regioned. Dark fruits, long noise and smooth finish gives way to an expressive wine that has a few years of age that is ready to enjoy now or age for a year or two. Pick up a case(or two) while you can as this vintage will not last long at price!

                              A:

Hi there, thanks for your question. The Domaine Trouvere Pinot is very popular with those who like a lighter style. We've found our customers who expect a fruit-forward Pinot have been disappointed. But many customers have loved it too. Just depends what your preference is! I hope this clears up the differences.
