Eroica 2011 Riesling, Columbia Valley, Chateau Ste. Michelle & Dr. Loosen
It seems like every vintage is another winner for this extraordinary Riesling collaboration between famed Mosel Valley vintner Dr. Ernst Loosen and Chateau Ste. Michelle. Sourced primarily from three of Ste. Michelle's best vineyards. One in the Columbia Valley and two in the slightly cooler Yakima Valley. The wine reaches a richness level that is on par with the best Spatlese from the Mosel Valley. This Riesling is bright, rich, lush and compelling. The sweetness is finely balanced with the bright acidity and the flavors are all lime peel, white peach, grapefruit and stoney slate.

      I have found my soul-mate! 2011 Eroica by Ste. Michelle's and Dr Loosen is so refreshing, I drink it mostly after dinner to relax, or start just before dinner and keep going. I have found it's smooth finish to compliment most any meal but the red sauces. As a gift, it is accepted eagerly. I highly recommend this beautiful Riesling.

        Not shocking that a Riesling from Dr. Loosen and Chateau Ste Michelle is consistently one of the best to come from the west coast. It's fragrant and intensely aromatic displaying tropical fruits, white peach and citrus notes. It has lovely acidity and a nice amount of sweetness to it, made in the Spatlese style, making it a wonderful pairing to many lighter fare dishes.
