Santa Cristina 2010 Toscana IGT, Antinori
Santa Cristina is probably Antinori's absolute best value Tuscan red. Grown on their hillside estate vineyard in Cortona, near Montalcino, this blend of 60% Sangiovese 40% Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah with a hint of oak aging is a prime example of their ability to combine long standing traditions with dynamic innovation. The wine shows bold aromas, with hints cherry, roasted nuts and tobacco. On the palate it is well-rounded, harmonious, and rich with a lingering finish. All of this for under $11 and the Antinori name on the label. Pretty hard to top.

                      This is a lot of wine for the $! It has a complex nose with notes of earth and cherry but it finishes beautifully dry with a hint of tartness. An awesome food wine or just a great everyday sipper.

                        This has to be one of the better valued Super Tuscans on the market right now. Antinori has amped up the backbone on Santa Cristina and what used to be a lighter styled red now has some solid structure to it. Still a pretty straightforward red fruit based wine, you will find hints of smoke, brown sugar and anise surrounding the fruit core. Perfect for your everyday drinking wine, especially at this price!
