Robert Mondavi 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Selection
Here is a famous Cabernet from a California legend. Velvety layers of blackberry, plum and cassis highlight this Central Coast Cabernet Sauvignon. The complex interplay of aromas and flavors in the wine come from these vineyards planted in varied soils throughout California's Central Coast. The winemaker carefully selected the grapes to ensure rich, ripe character with soft tannins.
The most recent available vintage will be sent, it may vary from the vintage indicated above.
I've never been a big fan of Robert Mondavi cabs, but I was persuaded to try this one by the online "video" tasting. For the price there are better options for sure. This particular wine just doesn't have much depth or complexity. The initial taste on the tongue seems to be all there is and its a bit shallow at that. Perhaps with a few more years in the bottle this wine would grow up, but for now it's nothing special.
i'm italian and this wine reminds me of homemade red zinfandel that we used to make ourselves...keep up the good work..the adequate reviews are from mangacakes who don't know their wine and don't know quality...
Usually buy in the $25 and up price range. Joel Gott, Decoy, etc. having a party, this was under $10! I figured how bad could it be...California produces wonderful cabs. Wo, I was surprised. Excellent taste. So well balanced. Almost like a blend...very smooth. Some cabs can be a little too bold. This was a shocker. So....I went back and bought a case.
