Here is a delicious Sake produced by Ty Ku in Nara, Japan - the birthplace of sake. Following the stringent standards used for Japanese Sake, this Super Premium Junmai Ginjo is produced from specialty Yamada Nishiki & Akebono rice that is milled to 55% of its original size, leaving the flavorful and very pure core of the rice grains to ferment slowly. This is a very popular and fine sake with a light green apple nose and gentle fruity flavor and many subtleties. The Junmai Ginjo classification represents the top 6% of all sake in the world and Ty Ku Black received a Gold Medal in the San Francisco International Wine Competition along with many other accolades. Drink it Chilled.
This was my first sampling of the very popular Ty-Ku Black sake, and boy was I pleasantly surprised! Really pretty on the nose with apple, tangerine peel and floral notes. Super smooth mouthfeel and texture with lively acidity and a clean and fresh finish. Great quality behind the fancy packaging.
