Sanford 2010 Chardonnay, Santa Barbara County |
 |
This 2010 Santa Barbara County Chardonnay comes from four great vineyards. Sanford's estate vineyards in the Santa Rita Hills, La Rinconada and Sanford & Benedict, along with the El Camino Vineyard in Los Alamos and the famous Bien Nacido Vineyard. They combine to give this wine aromatic complexity and layers of flavor and richness. Hand harvested and barrel fermented this wine shows all of the bright citrus and pineapple aromas that make Santa Barbara Chardonnays so appealing. The 2008 scored 90 points in Wine Enthusiast Magazine. They wrote "Made in the oaky-fruity style that makes some Chardonnays cloying, but saved by brisk acidity and a steely minerality that must come from chalk and rocks in the soil. The flavors are of pineapples and tangerines."
