Chateau St. Jean is a winemaking estate located at the foot of the Sugarloaf Ridge in Sonoma Valley near Kenwood, California. Founded in 1973, Chateau St. Jean built a reputation for producing outstanding Chardonnays from their prime vineyard holdings, particularly with their single vneyard seelctions like Robert Young and Belle Terre. Today, winemaker Steve Reeder makes wines of power and elegance, using his over 20 years of vineyard and winemaking experience and his knowledge of Sonoma vineyards. This 2011 is sourced from prime vineyards around the county. It shows vanilla and brown spice aromas with hints of pear and lemon . On the palate there�s apple and pineapple flavors and notes of toasted hazelnut, with a rich mouthfeel and a long, satisfying finish.
