Legend 2009 Red Blend, Shiloh, Judean Hills |
 |
Shiloh's Legend is a rich red blend of 45% Shiraz, 40% Petite Sirah, 9% Petite Verdot and 6% Merlot. Each varietal was fermented separately and then aged separately for 8 month in French Oak Barrels. Then after a careful tasting of each barrel the final blend was made and then further aged for an additional 8 months in French Oak Barrels. The vineyrds lie at extremely high altitude; over 2,500 feet above sea level. In this unique micro-climate in the Judean Hills the vines get brilliant sun eposure and warmth by day and thorough cooling down at night allowing for full development and slow ripening. Scoring it 90 points, the Wine Enthusiast Magazine said "exudes complex notes of fresh mint and pressed violet petals against a core of red cherry and plum fruit. Hints of black tea leaves, cocoa nibs and sweet spice linger on the close. It's still young and a bit tight, so decant now or give it some time." Mevushal.
