Grand Marrenon 2009 Cotes du Luberon, Marrenon |
 |
This wine comes from the very southeast of Frances' Rhone Valley. Marrenon is a modern co-operative winery formed by local growers to showcase their best quality wines. Having received good recognition in France with mentions in Gault-Millau and the Guide Hachet, the wines are just now arriving in America for the first time. This rich red, is their signature wine. A bold blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache from 30+ year old, high altitude vines. The wine is aged in 30% new French oak. Wine Enthusiast Magazine called it a Best Buy and said "Big, yet creamy in texture and refined, with plenty of silky tannins to frame the superripe black cherry fruit." Sounds good to us.
