From a small producer in France's Loire Valley comes this dazzling white wine, rich with grapefruit and gooseberry aromas. The estate boast mature 25-30 year old vines and a mix of chalky, silicious soils. The wine is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. It shows full flavors on the palate with enormous style and length. Crisp, fresh Sauvignon Blancs like this are why Sancerre has such an enormous and devoted following.
When the dollar cost is compared to the enjoyment of the wine, I would sense that it has a good bang for the buck. Sancere is one of my wife's favorites; she feels that this, cost-wise, is one of the best.
The delivery and service I received from WineExpress was exceptional. I had purchased three bottles and ended up getting free shipping. At most other sites this means it takes forever, not with WineExpress. It was shipped the same day I ordered it and at my door in two days.
I was able to track my order with ease and was notified every step of the way. Thank you for a wonderful wine and experience!
While I primarily drink red wine , I found this tasty for the summer on hotter days when red wine seemed contraindicated or a poor choice. I have never been a super fan of French wine, but this wa tasty and great for summer meals.
Did not seem to pair well to typical fruit from many Sauvignon Blanc's. Paired extremely well to cheese's such as Cabot Seriously sharp cheddar, and also poultry glazed and grilled with Greek style dressing. French style has a more lean character, flinty, less fruit.
