A mile or so south of Yountville, a quiet lane runs East towards the Napa river, crossing Hopper Creek on its way. It skirts land of subtle contours with rich alluvial soils. Here is where you find Silverado's Miller Ranch estate vineyard. The vineyard is in a climate sweet spot: cool enough in the mornings and not too warm in the evenings. The resulting Sauvignon Blanc has refreshing aromas of grapefruit, lime and tangerine. This 2010 shows attractive aroma of ripe grapefruit and honeydew melon, with spice and floral notes. Medium body, medium acidity with juicy fruit flavors.
