Provenance 2011 Sauvignon Blanc, Rutherford, Napa Valley
Winner of a Gold Medal from the San Francisco Wine Competition and a Bronze Medal from The Dallas Wine Competition.
Provenance Vineyards are located in the heart of Napa Valley in the Rutherford AVA. They produce an array of superb Napa Vally wines including this Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc. Provenance Director of Winemaking, Tom Rinaldi joined us for a tasting and discussion which you can watch if you click on the video. Tom was the founding Winemaker at Duckhorn Vineyards and knows Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc (Merlot and Cab too, of course) like few others. His style emphasizes the exceptional fruit character and quality that they are able to achieve in these Rutherford district vineyards. Stainless steel fermentation for 95% and 5% gets barrel fermented. About 7% Semillon is blended in and the wine shows a refreshing, mouthfilling character with bright citrus, pear, white peach and apple nuances.
