Campaccio 2007 Terrabianca, IGT Toscana |
 |
Number 37 on the Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2011!
The Terrabianca Estate was founded in the Chianti Classico zone in 1988, but the promise of Super Tuscan blends led to the purchase of the “Il Tesoro” (The Treasure) vineyard in Maremma, a 260 acre site with prime vineyards for Sangiovese and Cabernet. Campaccio, a superb Super Tuscan, is made from grapes from both the Chianti and Maremma properties, each bringing the characteristic terroir from these top growing regions. Scoring 93 points the Wine Spectator said "Very silky and floral, this red reminds me of Burgundy with its bilberry, violet and raspberry aromas and flavors. The grainy tannins show the other side to this wine, which needs time for the two components to balance. Ends with a long, intense, fruit-filled finish. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2014 through 2027." Limited!
