Chateau Ste. Michelle 2010 Indian Wells Red Blend, Columbia Valley |
 |
Here's a wine from Chateau Ste. Michelle that is just what you've been waiting for. The wineries of Washington's Columbia Valley make outstanding wine but the two grape varietals at which they truly excel are Merlot and Syrah. Well Ste. Michelle matched up those two superstar grapes in this exciting blend. 60% Merlot, 28% Syrah 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and few others for good measure. All sourced from their prime vineyard sites including Indian Wells on the Wahluke Slope and the Canoe Ridge in Horse Heaven Hills. These regions produce consistent high quality, ripe fruit. The wine was carefully fermented and aged 14-16 months in 33% new American oak, and 22% new French oak barrels. It shows bright berry flavors along with dark chocolate, licorice and spices. Supple and lively with a lingering finish. The perfect Washington State match is finally made.
