Fidelity 2010 Crazy Creek Estate Red Blend, Alexander Valley
Nick Goldschmidt is a rare bird indeed; a superstar winemaker on three different continents starting in New Zealand and ending up in California. And with his years as Chief Winemaker at Simi Vineyards in Sonoma, he knows Alexander Valley like few others. He rates the Crazy Creek Estate where the grapes for this wine are sourced, as one of the top five sites in the region. An amazing value this Meritage-style blend of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon is lush and distinctive with supple cherry, berry and dark chocolate flavors. A true gift to California wine lovers from Goldschmidt, it’s a wine that could easily cost two to three times its modest price. The 2007 was our Wine Express Wine of the Year!

Comments about Fidelity 2010 Crazy Creek Estate Red Blend, Alexander Valley:

For those trying to find an Alexander Valley red wine under $15 that mimics those high end Bordeaux blends and Meritage wines, look no further. Mr. Goldschmidt has once again found a way to turn out a well balanced and structured wine with ample fruit, firm tannins and a silky finish at an extremely reasonable price point. Drinking now but will probably even age for 3-5 years.

Comments about Fidelity 2010 Crazy Creek Estate Red Blend, Alexander Valley:

The 2010 vintage of Fidelity is as good as ever. It's filled with dark, stewed fruit aromas but on the palate it stays in balance with a hint of tartness making it somehow both fruit-forward and food-friendly. Delicious!
