Chateau Michel de Montaigne 2010 Bergerac, Mahler-Besse
This Chateau is owned by the Mahler-Besse family, owners of Chateau Palmer in Margaux and many other first class wine making properties in Bordeaux and around the world. In 1964 they rebuilt this historic Bergerac property which lies less than six miles from the village of St. Emilion. The terrior is identical to right bank Bordeaux and so the vineyards hold 60 % Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon on clay and marl soils and the vines average 20 years of age. From the outstanding 2010 vintage this wine continues to over-deliver and offer value that is practically unmatched in the world of French wine. Donít miss it.

Comments about Chateau Michel de Montaigne 2010 Bergerac, Mahler-Besse:

Nothing overly complex here, but this is just solid right bank Bordeaux style juice. Ripe red fruits with a nice earthy, terroir driven undertone give it real Bergerac character. The acid is vibrant and the mouth feel is soft and pleasant. An amzaing everyday option at this price.

                A:

This is a wine that has a very nice youthful quality and expressive fruit so it can be enjoyed right now. However if you prefer to age you wines this wine has the structure to reward cellaring up to about 5 years.
