This wine, made by Binder is a project he embarked on with the importer to create superior wines by superstar winemakers at great prices. The Shiraz for this SMG blend was sourced from the Schubert Family vineyard of Penfolds' Grange fame and it's all low yield concentrated fruit. 86% Shiraz, 12% Mourvedre and 2% Grenache are blended and aged in French oak. The Wine Advocate scored it 90 points and the Wine Spectator scored it 91 saying "Smooth, ripe and decadent. Not a big wine, but distinctive and focused on its smoky blackberry, cherry and charred meat flavors. It all lasts nicely against fine tannins. Shiraz, Mataro and Grenache. Drink now through 2016."
