Summers 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, Calistoga, Napa Valley
Summers estate in Calistoga is a family owned winery producing boutique quantities of fine Napa Valley wine. Their Villa Andriana vineyard with its deep loamy, volcanic soils provides most of the grapes for this 2010 Cabernet. Aged in French oak barrels Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 92 points and made it a Cellar Selection saying "This is a rich, well-structured Cabernet, but such are the tannins that it needs time in the cellar. The cool vintage was kind to the Calistoga fruit, keeping the alcohol modest and the tannins hefty, while allowing the grapes to develop intense flavors of blackberry and black currant. Give it 6–8 years in a good cellar."

    Comments about Summers 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, Calistoga, Napa Valley:

    What I really like about this Cab are all the secondary characteristics that play as much of a role as the fruit. Lots of smoky oak, cigar box and an overall earthiness give this wine a lot of character and complexity. The fruit is certainly there too, but it is well balanced without taking control.
