Cotes du Rhone 2010 Les Quatre Terres, Domaine Santa Duc
Item Number: 19 10 321 10
Domaine Santa Duc is widely renowned for their amazingly lush Gigondas. Winemaker Yves Gas is one of the most talented in the region and his handling of these Southern Rhone varietals brings out their exotic intensity. From the amazing 2010 vintage, that Parker rates 97 points overall, this wine is sourced from four estate vineyards in different CDR Villages; Rasteaux, Seguret, Vacqueyras and Rouaix. The vineyards all boast old vine plantings averaging 30+ years of age. A blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 12% Mourvèdre and 8% Cinsault, the lots are vinified separately and aged in tank and then bottled unfiltered to retain the intensity and nuance. Wine Spectator scored it 90 points saying "Lots of range for a Côtes du Rhône, with linzer torte, pastis-soaked plum and hoisin sauce notes all laced with a subtle mesquite hint. The long, perfumy finish lets the fruit glide through, while a graphite edge knits it all up. Impressive. Drink now through 2015."
