Jordan 2009 Cab Sauv, Alexander Valley
Item Number: 13 20 126 09
Jordan Vineyards almost single-handedly put Alexander Valley on the map. Since the release their first wine, the 1976 Cabernet Sauvignon, they’ve been a standard bearer for what this warm-climate corner of Sonoma County can produce. And year after year Jordan’s Cabernets continue to deliver bold, ripe flavors, beautifully polished with ideal balance for aging. This 2009 is the latest release and it's a stellar blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec. The wine undergoes extended maceration for 20 days and then goes into French and American oak barrels, approximately 77%, and 23% for 12 months. The wine is then aged in bottle in the winery cellar allowing the tannins to soften and the flavors the mesh. The result is the signature style of Jordan Cab, forward and supple yet well structured for aging in your cellar. It shows beautifully defined black cherry fruit with notes of vanilla and dark chocolate. Another winner!
