Dona Paula 2012 Black Edition, Red Blend, Mendoza
Item Number: 28 39 115 12
"Argentinas future is in its blends," said Neal Martin, Robert Parkers Wine Advocate taster, after tasting more than 1,500 Argentine wines. And this wine is exactly the future he was referring to. The Doņa Paula Estate Black Edition Red Blend has an intense black purple color. On the nose, its aromas of plum, spices and pepper stand out while on the palate it is harmonious and balanced, with round tannins and a long finish. A blend of 60% Malbec, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot, all sourced from their El Alto Estate in Lujan De Cuyo at 3000+ feet of elevation. Low yields give this wine intensity. It was aged in French oak for 10 months. James Suckling scored it 94 points saying "A beautiful red here with light chocolate, berry and nutmeg character. Full body, with ultra-fine tannins and a long, long finish. All here. Drink now." We've seen our share of over 90 points, under $20, but 94 points, under $15 is practically unheard of!! Don't Miss This One!!!!!
