Napa Cellars 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Item Number: 13 20 235 12
Started by Rombauer back in the 80's Napa Cellars is now owned by the Trinchero Family Estate. As a result they are able to source premium Napa fruit from their almost 300 acres of estate vineyards in Napa Valley. That's really what makes this wine stand out and why it's so good. It's not just another Napa Cab but it's a Napa Cab with pedigree, quality and consistency, all at amazing value. The outstanding 2012 vintgae brought beautifully ripe, complex grapes throughout Napa Valley. Sourcing for this Cab included prime sites in Atlas Peak and Spring Mountain. 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, grapes were hand-harvested in the cool morning. The fruit was hand-sorted, gently de-stemmed and lightly crushed. During a 16-day maceration period, the extraction of color and flavor were maximized and the tannins polished for a rich, supple mouthfeel. The new wine aged in French oak barrels for just 10 months. It shows aromas of dark fruit, juicy black currant, elderberry, bay leaf and hints of clove. A lush core of ripe blackberry, black currant, slate and dried cocoa coat the palate. Plush fine-grained tannins and subtle hints of dried herbs lead to a velvety and long finish. A Napa Cab steal, On Sale!!!!
