Chateau Chevalier Lagrezette 2010 Malbec, Cahors
Item Number: 39 10 132 10
Made from a selection of grapes from some of the Lagrezette estate’s more mature vines, Chevalier Lagrezette is true French Malbec from the Cahors region in Southwest France, where the grape originated. Since 1989, internationally renowned enologist, Michel Rolland, has worked closely with the team at Lagrezette to produce the most expressive wines possible as is clearly the case with this 2010. The wine is elegant and pure with distinctive notes of black currant, anise, berries and minerals. Aged 12 months in oak barrels. Additional bottle age has brought soft, supple tannins to this beautifully balanced wine. Very limited! Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored it 91 points saying "This wine from Château Lagrézette is powerful and dense in its own right. It has black, juicy, tar-like flavors with tannins concentrated into a dry, dark core. Blended with a small proportion of Merlot, there is just a touch of softness which will allow the wine to mature in the next 2–3 years."
