Montevina 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Independence Point, California

Item Number: 13 20 711 13

Customer Rating Based on a scale of 1 to 5 glasses

Montevina is best known for their lush, good value Amador wines sourced from their 400 acres of estate vineyards in the Lodi and Sierra Fotthills regions. This Cab is made with grapes sourced 60% from Lodi and 40% from the cooler Montery AVA, from vineyards known for consistently producing topnotch fruit. The warmer weather vineyards give this wine its fruit-forward characteristics while the cooler vineyards balance the acidity. The different varietal expressions produced in each vineyard create a balanced and inviting wine. Fermented in temperature controlled tanks and then aged in French and American oak barrels. It's a 94 Point Platinum Award winner in the Critics Challenge International Wine Competition. They said "Montevina's entire line is packed with value for your dollar. This Cabernet shows correct varietal character, moderate grip, and a fat mid-palate of blackberry and spice, with some dill coming forward in the finish."
