Uppercut 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

Item Number: 13 20 326 15

Customer Rating Based on a scale of 1 to 5 glasses

The outstanding 2015's are coming and this is one of the first. Provenance winery produces this finely tuned super value Napa Valley Cab. Winemaker Trevor Durling sources grapes from throughout the valley accessing fruit from both Provenance and Sterling's vineyards. Almost half is grown right in Rutherford. 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Merlot. The wine is aged 15 months in 30% new oak. This 2015 wine shows rich, deep flavors good intensity and balanced structure. The black currant, cherry, cocoa flavors fan out on the palate and the fine grained tannins offer a rich mouthfeel, suggesting good longevity for this Cab as it lingers on the finish. A stunning value for the price!

Great for price
This Cab, as I read under, is not Napa. They are located there but the wine has California appelation. It does deliver very well for the price. Dark ruby color, hints of Licorice and dark berries, lingering finish w/ firm Tannins. Good cab. --Thank you for your review! The switch to the California appellation was done mid-vintage for this Uppercut 2015 Cab. All of our bottles are currently from BEFORE the appellation change, making them true Napa AVA Uppercut Cabernets -The WineExpress Team

Yummy
Most excellent. What a bargain. If you're looking for a great Stan alone wine or a great addition to red meat, this is the one.
