This delicious Cabernet comes from Hanna's estate vineyard, the Red Ranch in Alexander Valley. About 50 acres of Cabernet and about 25 acres of Merlot grow there on gravelly red loam soils. The grapes were sorted, destemmed and the partially crushed and cold soaked for up to 13 days. After fermentation the finished wine is aged in French oak barrels from Taransaud, Seguin Moreau, Saury and Canton. A blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Malbec and 6% Merlot and then aged a full 27 months in barrel. 2014 was an outstanding vintage for Alexander Valley. This wine shows vibrant fruit; black cherry, black currant and zesty spice; cedar, coffee, vanilla and dark chocolate. Supple tannins and a long tasty finish make this a wine you won't want to miss.
