Fox Run 2007 Cabernet Franc, Finger Lakes |
 |
Fox Run Vineyards is located on the western banks of Seneca Lake and in 2008 was the first New York State winery ever, to be named in Wine & Spirits Magazine's Top 100 Wineries in the World. Seneca boasts a large number of the region’s wineries because of its large size (40 miles long) and depth (over 400 feet). And this massive body of water provides a unique tempering effect to the vineyards along its banks. This 2007 Cabernet Franc comes from estate vineyards averaging 14 years of age which may account for the complexity of this easy drinking red. It shows bright berry fruit and savory herb and spice notes with a refreshing acid balance that makes it perfect as an aperitif or matched with your favorite everyday foods.
