This St. Emilion Grand Cru has reached a peak of drinking perfection that’s simply spellbinding. The 2000 vintage in Bordeaux was spectacularly successful and more every bottle has been snapped up, drunk up or squirreled away. So we were very excited to uncover this estate bottled gem from a family owned winery of over three generations. Mature, low-yielding vines averaging 40 years of age; 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, are hand harvested, fermented and aged in oak barrels, 20% new. The beautifully structured 2000 vintage tannins have now faded away leaving a complex mélange of flavors; black currant, black olive, soy, smoke and molasses that linger on an endless finish. Very limited!
